Here are a few basic steps that would help you analyze the
competition.
Step 1. Find the Ideal websites to Compare
Search for the ideal keyphrase you want to rank for into both
Google and other search engines, and take note of the top 10
websites on each. Next, choose up to three websites that have a top
ranking in search engines. Select websites that provide similar
services to yours.
Step 2. Review Sites and Look for similar SEO Patterns
With the 3 sites in hand, review the page that is ranking from each
site, pay special attention to locations where the "keyphrase" is
being used. Compare the results to see any patterns of keyphrase
use across all three competitors. Your goal will be to find a
pattern, that you can put in your own website.
